The Elements Gen II in 220 cm – our largest 4-person rooftop tent
The 220 cm version of the Element Gen II is our most spacious pop-up roof tent and was specifically designed as a roof tent for four people . It offers plenty of space, a clear layout, and a particularly stable construction – ideal for families or groups who want to travel together in a roof tent.
This family model is available in Ocean and Midnight Stone. The Ocean version in navy blue with a brown roof is particularly popular with camping families who frequently travel in coastal regions or by lakes.

The Elements Gen II, with a width of 220 cm, was specifically designed for four people. A supplied partition wall allows for a practical division of the interior – perfect for privacy or different sleeping schedules.
Two separate entrances and two telescopic ladders ensure that each person can get in and out comfortably – a real plus for a 4 person roof tent.
Installation & roof load
The 220 cm model is a roof tent for four people and weighs 104,6 kg including the ladder. Its size makes it particularly suitable for larger vehicles with a correspondingly high dynamic roof load – such as robust SUVs, off-roaders, or vans. It can be mounted on both platform carriers and sturdy crossbars.
Sky-View roof windows – ideal for families
Two large sky-view skylights offer an unobstructed view of the starry sky and can be completely darkened if required – especially practical if children want to go to sleep earlier.
LED ambience for pleasant evenings
The dimmable LED interior lighting provides cozy light and can be set to three color modes – perfect for game nights or relaxed reading in the 4 person roof tent.
Plenty of storage space for families on the go
With mosquito nets on all openings, 12 side pockets and two shoe pockets, everything stays neatly stowed away even in a large roof tent for 4 people.

Wir haben uns dieses Zelt vor 2 Wochen online gekauft und es selber im Lager abholen dürfen was sehr angenehm und reibungslos abgelaufen ist.
Die Mitarbeiter sind in sachen Beratung und Logistik sehr kompetent und freundlich.
Das Zelt haben wir sofort in Italien getestet und sind sehr glücklich damit.
Meine Frau und meine 2 Kinder lieben es und es hat uns in allen Belangen sehr Überzeugt.
Die Montage auf unseren Renault Trafic hat super geklappt da alles zur Montage dabei ist (inkl. Werkzeuge). Ein Unwetter mit Sturm und Starkregen hat es auch tadellos überstanden.
Der Aufbau klappt nach zwei drei mal super und einfach.
Von uns eine klare Empfehlung für das Zelt.
Obwohl es empfohlen wird zu zweit auf und ab zubauen schaffe ich es auch problemlos alleine. Bei Regen einfach top wegen dem überdachten zustieg.
Die Matratze ist tatsächlich sehr angenehm. Wir schlafen gleich gut wie zuhause.

Ich habe mir das Dachzelt Elements Gen II mit Vorzelt bestellt. Als ich das Zelt verbaut hate muss ich sagen ich bin super zufrieden damit, die Verarbeitung ist top und die Qualität ist zu sehen, leider hatte ich einen defekt an meinem Zelt jedoch wurde mir hier zu meiner vollsten Zufriedenheit ausgeholfen. Ich kann dieses Zelt von Horntools NUR empfehlen bin sehr zufrieden damit. Vielen Dank und gerne wieder. LG
Das Elements 165 macht auf dem Dach des RAMs einen super ersten Eindruck. Nach einem kurzen Test ließ es sich in wenigen Minuten aufstellen. Auch die Montage war erfreulich unkompliziert. Jetzt sind wir gespannt, wie sich die erste Nacht mit Skyview darin anfühlt!
Super Zelt. Haben es bereits 10 Tage benutzt. Auch bei vielem Regen blieb es dicht. Die Teleskopleitern sind auch besser da die nicht so quietschen wie die Aluleitern. Zusätlich kann man die zum auf und abbauen nutzen um besser dran zu kommen.Einzige Schwachpunkte sind die Laschen von den Reißverschlüssen die sind ziemlich schnell ab und beim 220er könnten mehr als 4 Befestigungssets dabei sein.
Wir haben uns nach mehreren Tagen recherchieren für das blaue Elements in 140cm entschieden. Hauptsächlich auf grund der Marke und den neuen Features. Gleich im März bestellt und bereits fünf nächte darin verbracht. Muss sagen.. TOP Verarbeitung und super komfortabel. Die Leiter ist sehr praktisch und das zelt wirklich in wenigen Minuten aufgebaut. Wir freuen uns auf den Frühling, könnens kaum erwarten bald nach Spanien zu fahren!!
Das Dachzelt ist nach unseren ersten zwei Testübernachtungen perfekt. Mit seinem leichten Gewicht und der kompakten Bauweise passt es nahezu auf jedes Fahrzeug und bietet komfortablen Platz für zwei.
Die Verarbeitung wirkt sehr robust und professionell, nun hoffen wir, dass das Zelt auch etwas härteren Bedingungen Stand hält :)

Wir sind mit dem horntools Elements II 220 sehr zufrieden. Das Dachzelt bietet richtig viel Platz, ist sauber verarbeitet und die Matratze ist angenehm bequem. Besonders praktisch finden wir die zwei separaten Eingänge und den unkomplizierten Aufbau. Trotz der Größe wirkt alles stabil und durchdacht. Für Familien oder alle, die im Dachzelt gerne etwas mehr Platz haben möchten, definitiv eine Empfehlung!
Preis-Leistung ist bei Horntools einfach stark. Lieferung, Qualität und Design lassen Camperherzen wirklich höher schlagen.
Haben das Dachzelt nun ein halbes Jahr in sämtlichen Wetterlagen getestet und sind sehr zufrieden damit. Top Qualität und Verarbeitung!

Zeer goed verwerkte stof. Wat ons het beste bevalt, is de zeer ruime binnenruimte van de 220 cm Ocean.
Das Dachzelt bietet alles nach dem ich gesucht habe:
- Panoramafenster
- Öffnungen an allen Seiten
- stabile Leiter mit überdachten Eingang
- Schuhtasche
- LED-Licht
- Wasserdicht (zumindest nach dem ersten Regen)
- ausreichend hohe Matratze
Am wichtigsten war mir eine dicke Außenhülle, damit man innen ausreichend Sichtschutz/Privatsphäre hat und wenig Lichteinfall um lange zu schlafen. Das ist gegeben.
Alles ist sauber und hochwertig verarbeitet und beim Service bekommt man schnell Hilfe bei Fragen.
Das Dachzelt mit 165cm haben wir auf einem Mini und funktioniert somit auch bei Kleinwagen.
Das Dachzelt( Elements 165) hat direkt die ersten Tage den Härtetest (Großglockner mit Hitze,Starkregen und Gewitter) durchgemacht und wir sind extrem begeistert von dem Zelt. Es gibt das ein oder andere noch zu verbessern was eher an unserer Unerfahrenheit und dem Umgang mit dem Zelt zu tun hat. Selbst als unerfahrener Benutzer kann man das Zelt problemlos auf und abbauen. Es erklärt sich Vieles von selbst. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Frequently asked questions about the Elements Gen II folding tent
A folding roof tent is particularly attractive to buy because it's significantly cheaper – however, you should allow a little more time for setup and takedown. Thanks to its low weight, this type of tent is very well suited for vehicles with a lower permissible roof load. At the same time, you benefit from plenty of usable space: especially when traveling with children, a folding tent offers ample room for comfortable nights. Another advantage is the tent's generous overhang, which automatically creates a sheltered, shaded area. This often eliminates the need for an additional awning.
The Elements roof tent fits any car with sufficient roof load capacity. This is usually even the smallest car. All you need is a suitable roof rack to which you can attach the roof tent. You can find roof racks at horntools, but the roof tent is also compatible with other roof rack brands.
The Elements Gen II varies in weight depending on its width and the number of people using it:
- 140 cm – 2 persons: 73.3 kg including ladder (66.5 kg without ladder)
- 165 cm – 3 persons: 77.3 kg including ladder (70.5 kg without ladder)
- 220 cm – 4 persons: 97.8 kg including ladder (91 kg without ladder)
We deliberately specify the weights including the ladder, as this can be stored directly in the roof tent during travel and therefore does not require any additional storage space in the vehicle. If necessary, the ladder can of course also be transported inside the car.
The Elements roof tent comes complete with all the necessary basic equipment – including mounting tools. This means: simply mount the roof tent and enjoy your freedom immediately. An optional awning can be added, providing extra space and a sheltered area in windy or rainy weather.
Absolutely! You can use the Elements roof tent without worry, even in heavy rain. Thanks to its sturdy construction, the tent can withstand even strong winds.
This depends on the size. We offer the Elements roof tent in widths of 140, 165, and 220 cm. The sleeping area is always 230 cm long.
The 140cm roof tent comfortably sleeps two adults. The 165cm version offers ample space for two adults and a child. The 220cm version features two ladders and a partition, providing two separate rooms with entrances and enough space for up to four people.
In the Elements Gen II, a particularly comfortable 8 cm cold foam/memory foam mattress ensures outstanding sleeping comfort – a detail that many customers cite as a decisive reason for choosing a horntools roof tent.
